Club Sueco | Scandinavian Lunch | Monserrat

The Swedish are geniuses when it comes to organization, simplicity, all things white, and detailing- the genius creators of Ikea (Buenos Aires needs you)! Cuisine-wise, they have simple and refreshing dishes, herbs of dill, seafood, salmon, lemons, seafood pates, potato pancakes, assortments of cheese, stewed goodness, and chocolate. Though all that tastes wonderfully good at Club Sueco, I still miss my good friend Inge’s Christmas dinner; a Norwegian who cooks a mean roasted pork belly with crackling, accompanying with sauerkraut, perfectly roasted potatoes and a simple fantastic salad. Suffice to say I embrace all things Scandinavian, especially after living in city after city of pleasurable chaos.

Restaurant Critic

Located on the 5th floor, the room is well lit with two big windows and a big painting in the back; decorations are clean, white and all the tables are well spaced for privacy. I like the quietness, a comfortable shift from the crowded streets outside.

Food Critic

For lunch it was perfect, nothing to complain about the food. The taste was clean and well composed, and the price of 67 pesos ($16) includes a glass of well chosen wine, main, and dessert or coffee; also another 15% discount for paying in cash. They also have a buffet once a month, only by reservation. Definitely a great suggestion to anyone who wants a change from hunks of meat and greasy palate. They also have a very enticing menu a la carte: smoke salmon, egg with caviar, pate, cheeses, etc.

  • service and ambiance
  • good food: love the salad and pate, as well as the dessert
  • affordable lunch prices, though also a great place for a date night
  • location of the restaurant
