Volta | One of the Best Ice Cream | Buenos Aires

bucket of ice cream

rich and creamy

Someone once told me, “People in Buenos Aires are serious about their icecream.”

Of course they are! The flavors alone are just overwhelming. Just in their ‘chocolate’ section, they have 11 flavors: chocolate with almonds, chocolate with rhum moistened raisins, chocolate with hazelnuts, etc. To continue, they have the other sections of ‘traditional creams’, ‘dulce de leche’, ‘fruits’, ‘genuine’ and the ‘light’.  I shall never see ice cream the same anymore. The Pandora box has opened for me and soon I am going to buy new jeans.

Un’ Altra Volta

Echeverría 2302, Belgrano, Buenos Aires ( there are a few all over the city, check their website for more locations: http://www.unaltravolta.com.ar/)

Heladeria Critic: Friends were right about this place- it is too good to be true. I am still not a fan of Dulce de Leche. The sweet buttery caramel combined with the chocolate was too sweet to my taste. The other flavors we had were chocolate with almonds, banana split and chocolate with rum.

Pros

  • creamy dense and flavorful
  • love the way they categorize their flavors
  • my favorite so far is the banana split with chunks of chocolate
  • their small waffle cup was crispy delicious and freshly made

Cons

  • not yet a fan of dulce de leche, though I’ll give it another try with other flavors
  • my soon expanding waist line
