Las Cholas

Arce 306, Las Cañitas, Buenos Aires 4899 0094

Parrillas are countless in this city but this one I have a soft spot for; it plays between the perfect balance of ambiance, price, varieties and quality- a great place to impress, to people watch, eat with friends or grabbing a quick craving of locro. Writing this, I remembered For91Days recently posted their review on this restaurant as well. We think alike.

Restaurant Critic: I like it. The big dining hall is crowded and  noisy; the space is playful, colorful and gritty, and the action at the parrilla can be seen right along the back room. Food comes out on wooden boards, and even though service can be a bit lacking, the food comes out fast and portions are impressive. Definitely a fun space.

Food Critic: Incredibly affordable. For just 95 pesos ($23) we had beers, empanadas, solid piece of bife de chorizo, half a provoleta, rice, mash sweet potato, french fries, and grilled vegetable. The flexibility of the menu offers other regional taste of dishes such as locros, humitas, tamales and so on. It might not be the best piece of meat or the top notch empanada one may ever have had, but for a solid good meal in a unique setting that doesn’t cost much- this is the place to go.

  • cheap price
  • great space
  • delicious food overall with generous portion
  • wide varieties: fish, local dishes, salads

  • service
  • french fries were not great
  • complimentary bread wasn’t interesting
