La Cremerie | Gourmet Ice Cream | Las Canitas | The Lost Asian

banana split and hazelnut

While locals in Las Canitas will boast about their down-the-block healdería, Veikko, little is known about this gourmet ice cream palor on the crazy street of Báez. The ambiance resembles more of an endearing cafe where one could linger, read, and hangout. The colours and flavours of the ice cream are incredibly eye-stimulating, and my favorite is always- the banana split. For this place, I fell in love with the hazelnut cream, with nuts weaved into the sticky deliciousness. Personally, I love the texture and flavours of the creamy variations here compared to those in Veikko- less on a cornstarchy sticky side, and more of a dense heavy creamy side. For sorbets or anything fruity, Veikko is definitely the winner.

La Crémerie

Baez 252, Las Canitas, Buenos Aires 4773 2291

  • the cafe-quiet part in the busy street of Baez. good to sit outside
  • love the creaminess of the flavours: chocolates, dulce de leche, nuts etc

  • fruit flavours are okay
  • more expensive than un-gourmet ones

vanilla with chocolate and raspberry sounds…SEXY. Going to try that next time. It might be a good thing we are not next door neighbor :)

I’m not the only one out there!! That is great— we think the same!!! Love their creamy ice cream and those nutty, crunchy things in between!

Hands DOWN my fav over Veikko! Love the chunks of stuff running through this ice cream, not just (maybe) sitting on the top. Banana split is ALWAYS included in my 1/2 kilo. Now I must try the hazelnut cream. mmmm!
